February 2024

This is a month of love, reflection, and celebration. It is a time set aside when we talk with our children about the rich history and contributions of African Americans who helped to make this the Greatest Country in the World. There are names that we know, but there are names we will never know. We can’t wait for someone to tell our story. Let’s do it ourselves. Find the people you love, hug them, and tell them how special they are.

January 2024

The page has been turned as we begin a New Year of 2024. May this be a year that is filled to the brim with joy, love, peace, prosperity, good health, and a safe happy environment. We must reflect on just how grateful we should be because of Grace and Mercy. I do believe that our future will be brighter if we press forward in a positive productive way.

September 2023

Here we are at the beginning of our 29th year of sharing, focusing, celebrating and acting on those things which will “raise the bar” for a productive year. We are determined to make our communities better and more prosperous. You are the “wind beneath the coalition” which is the only one of its kind in our County. Only God could make this possible! He has truly “Ordered our steps!”

June 2023

We are now at the end of another productive and informative year. This correspondence comes with a “bushel of hugs” and a “great BIG thanks” for everything you have done to ensure our success of 28 years. We have met new friends, received valuable information and helped in moving many projects which have enhanced our quality of life

May 2023

As we begin to view the beauty of flowers, the leaves on the trees, the planting of gardens, the signs of spring, let’s give “Thanks” for the breath of life and weather with no hurricanes or tornadoes. We are blessed beyond measure! Our coalition continues to “raise the bar” for future generations and that’s a good thing!

April 2023

This letter is “filled to the brim” with a “Great Big Hug and Thanks” for all you have done to make our coalition so successful for these 29 years. As we view the awakening of beautiful flowers and leaves, we are so grateful for the air we breathe and there are no hurricanes or tornadoes. That’s a Good Thing!

Healthy eating is important at every age. Eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, protein foods, and dairy or fortified soy alternatives. When deciding what to eat or drink, choose options that are full of nutrients and limited in added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium.

The majority of sodium in our diets comes from packaged and restaurant food (not the salt shaker) as a result of food processing. Even foods that may not taste salty can be major sources of sodium. Foods with only moderate amounts of sodium, such as bread, can be major sources of sodium because they’re eaten so frequently.
